SÉRIE - MÉTODOS DE ENSINO DE LÍNGUA ESTRANGEIRA (COMMUNITY LANGUAGE LEARNING)

Since I started these studies on the different ways of teaching and learning English, I have been able to see that in many situations of our daily lives we are always using specific strategies based on methods not always known to us. Talking about Community Language Learning and its particular approach, I realized that some strategies were used by me in my previous experiences.

The first positive aspect of the method that I would like to emphasize is that the practice of conversation is an important point. In fact, it all starts with a conversation in which learners alternately use their own language and the target language. Another relevant aspect is the role of the teacher. In this method, the teacher acts much more as a counselor than as a teacher. Some other important features like hearing their voices on a recording tape, directing themselves in a conversation being free to choose the topic or talking about experiences in activities and receiving positive feedback from the teacher help students to feel safe to learn. * Important characteristics of the Community Language Learning

- Stimuli for conversation (Language is for communication)

- Teacher's role: More counselor than a teacher

- Interaction between teacher and students, students and students: The teachers acts as a supporter for learning; as the communication directs the most part of the activities the relation between students is constant.

- Tape recording to hear students' voices: An excellent strategy for students to hear their own voices and reflect on their pronunciation.

Desde que iniciei esses estudos sobre as diferentes formas de ensinar e aprender inglês, pude constatar que em muitas situações do nosso cotidiano estamos sempre utilizando estratégias específicas baseadas em métodos nem sempre conhecidos por nós. Falando sobre Aprendizagem de Línguas Comunitárias e sua abordagem particular, percebi que algumas estratégias foram utilizadas por mim em minhas experiências anteriores.

O primeiro aspecto positivo do método que gostaria de enfatizar é que a prática da conversação é um ponto importante. Na verdade, tudo começa com uma conversa em que os alunos usam alternadamente sua própria língua e a língua-alvo. Outro aspecto relevante é o papel do professor. Nesse método, o professor atua muito mais como conselheiro do que como professor. Algumas outras características importantes como ouvir suas vozes em uma fita de gravação, direcionar-se em uma conversa ter liberdade para escolher o tema ou falar sobre experiências em atividades e receber feedback positivo do professor ajudam os alunos a se sentirem seguros para aprender. - Gravação para ouvir as vozes do aluno: Uma excelente estratégia através dos alunos poderem ouvir suas próprias vozes e refletir sobre sua pronúncia.
